Brüel & Kjær Vibro received a €6.0m order for a machine condition monitoring system retrofit at major LNG plant in Africa
Brüel & Kjær Vibro has been awarded a major contract to upgrade the legacy data acquisition units and condition monitoring software for all trains at a major African LNG plant. The original Brüel & Kjær Vibro COMPASS system, commissioned almost 20 years ago, will be replaced by the VIBROCONTROL 6000® machine protection system and Compass 6000™ condition monitoring software platform. The legacy portable vibration data collectors used for monitoring some of the “balance-of-plant” machinery had been previously replaced as part of a separate project with the state-of-the-art VIBROTEST 80 and VIBROPORT 80 portable analyzers. This significant project encompasses machine protection, condition and/or performance monitoring of approximately 150 critical machines monitored at the plant as well as including 750 fin-fans and 960 other “balance-of-plant” machines.
In addition to the monitoring system upgrade, there is a complete service package that includes training and a long-term service agreement.
As a leader in LNG plant condition monitoring, Brüel & Kjær Vibro is currently monitoring LNG plants worldwide with a total capacity of over 52 MTPA, the Compass 6000™ Condition Monitoring System is keeping a watchful eye on 22% of the total world production of LNG. This doesn’t include other projects won that haven’t been commissioned yet.
