From 16th until 20th April the Hannover fair took place. More than 230.000 visitors are a clear indication of a prosperous economic situation. Also the central topic -Condition Monitoring-  could profit from it. Our exhibition booth was THE meeting place for all prospective customers interested in fastidious machine monitoring and machine diagnosis.

 gespraechsrunde.jpg

In numerous discussions we were able to convince prospective customers from many countries of our philosophy of condition monitoring and discuss also current projects with them.

Our thanks to all our visitors through whose interest this exhibition was so successful.

Wishing you much pleasure and interest during reading of the Newsletter.

Best wishes,

Whenever machine protection is being discussed, one thinks directly of the VIBROCONTROL 4000, the system for sensitive machine monitoring.

The modular concept and fulfilment of API 670 requirements makes VIBROCONTROL 4000 as successful as it is.

The continuous monitoring of all the following measurement variables for evaluation of machine condition and protection can be carried out with the VIBROCONTROL 4000:

  • absolute bearing vibrations
  • relative shaft vibrations
  • relative axial shaft position
  • rolling-element bearing condition BCU
  • speed
  • temperature
  • shaft and casing expansion
  • eccentricity
  • pressure, bearing forces, etc.

VIBROCONTROL 4000 finds its use in various applications for the monitoring of:

  • steam turbines
  • hydro-turbines
  • gas turbines
  • cement mills
  • ventilators
  • cooling towers
  • pumps
  • transmissions
  • centrifuges
  • Main drives and auxiliary machines in marine vessels

Displacement sensors with integrated oscillator enjoy great popularity

Datasheet INA-08x

The sensor series IN-08x covers eddy current sensors with the measuring range of 1.5 mm. Conventional measurement chains consist of a sensor, a spatially separated oscillator and an amplifier. The special IN-08x sensors are unique in that the oscillator circuit needed for the field generation and the amplifier are integrated into the housing of the sensor casing. Thus coaxial cable, plugs and oscillator protective housings are avoided. An advantage, that itself directly and substantially reduces the costs of the sensor and the installation.
The sensors possess a standard length of 70 mm. Special lengths of up to 250 mm are possible. The operating temperature range lies between 0°C and +110°C.
The non-contacting displacement sensors are conceived for industrial applications and possess a high resolution. They are suitable both for static and dynamic applications up to 10 kHz. Typical applications within the range of machine monitoring are measuring relative shaft vibrations, relative shaft displacement or acquisition of rotor speeds.
A condition for the measurement is a metallic measuring surface.
For applications within Ex-areas the series INA-08x is available.

BKV academy

During the first half-year of the BKV academy over 100 participants have been given substantial and valuable suggestions and assistance for their daily work in the field of maintenance and condition monitoring.

The BKV academy takes up its schedule in September again and begins from the 18th to the 20th September in Eigeltingen with the topics “Basis of vibration measuring techniques” and “Field balancing”. At the same time an advanced seminar on the “Measurement and interpretation of FFT spectra” takes place in Weimar.

Reserve a seminar place for yourselves soon, since space is limited to a specific  number of participants.

    Encyclopaedia of vibration technology

For communication in a field of activity like vibration measuring technology it is important to always use the same designations with the same meaning.

The available “Lexicon of vibration technology” represents an attempt to arrange the subject descriptions, characteristics and definitions for the extensive field of activity of vibration measuring techniques, as well as the traditionally bordering fields of activity, in more compact, alphabetical form.
