Condition monitoring of gas turbines calls upon a variety of techniques and combination of approaches. A basic but mandatory approach to provide an overview and give early warnings for the majority of potential problems comprises of the following:
- Vibration monitoring is used to detect the most frequent causes of failures.
- Performance monitoring with trending of raw process values and calculated performance indicators provides significant information on the machines behaviour.
- Integrated overview and diagnosis of concurrent monitoring methods makes correlation, deduction and diagnosis more trustworthy.
Different types of services are needed throughout the lifetime of a gas turbine. Testing, trouble-shooting and optimisation is provided by experienced specialists within monitoring, rotordynamics and thermodynamics fields. |
